We took Makenna to the Atlanta Asthma and Allergy Clinic today. I was so worried, because we had planned to do a full allergy pannel, which is a BUNCH of skin prics across her back. NO FUN!
Well, after discussing the rash with the Dr. We decided not to do the allergy pannel yet. It could be viral and we would hate to put her through that for viral. If she does have a break out, she isn't in danger, so we decided to wait.
After dinner time at my house can be a little crazy. The second Alyssa is done eating she announces loudly bath. Even if Makenna and Isabelle aren't done, the echo bath. If a bath doesn't occur within 10 minutes of this announcement, chaos will ensure. But this leaves me with 2 hours of entertainment before bedtime and unfortunately, they will not let me out of their sight during this time.
Tonight however, I HAD THE MOST BRILLANT IDEA EVER!!!
I decided to let them clean the kitchen. As soon as Alyssa announced bath, I informed her she had to throw her plate away, so done she went I handed her her plate and she took it to the trash can. Next, Isabelle and then Makenna. Then I gave them a wash rag with some spray on it and they helped clean the high chairs up. I then let them sweep and mop the floor, while I washed dishes. Finally, while I cleaned the top of the stove, Makenna cleaned the bottom, Isabelle did the dishwasher, and Alyssa did the bottom of the fridge. I taught them to go all the way up and down, and honestly they did a good job. We then put away the dishes I handwashed into the cabinets.
Hopefully, I can continue this, because it is so nice to put them to bed and not have to worry about cleaning the kitchen!
So we finally had a moment to carve out our pumpkins...Here is the lovely event...
Makenna decided to pick my only rose before we began
Helping nana cut the tops off the pumpkins
Makenna decided to take a break on the pumpkin
The result of Makenna sitting on the pumpkin, and then Isabelle reaction to said pumpkin roll
Attempting to get the girls to help us clean out pumpkin
We lost Alyssa first...She wouldn't put her hand in the pumpkin, but she did take the pumpkin guts from Nana and put them in the bucket.
Makenna put her hand in one time and declared it YUCK!
Trying to get Alyssa to come back...but she wasn't having anything to do with it
Isabelle really did not like getting it on her hands, but she did like putting the spoon in the pumpkin.
Me cutting the pumpkin face out (yes, I can use a knife, contray to my families beliefs.) I carved two pumpkins and my mom did one. But she did have a harder one to carve than I did.)
Makenna decided to draw her own pumpkin face.
THE FINAL RESULTS!
Yea, for pumpkins
Isabelle checking out the pumpkin
Makenna cheching out her pumpkin.
Alyssa was much more interested in the white little pumpkin than her big pumpkin (especially after Nana removed the top and Alyssa stuck her finger into the flame.) She fine, but the rest of the night Alyssa and Makenna kept telling me (and signing) the pumpkin was HOT!
Isabelle is too cute here!
Nana has taught Isabelle how to pose and so this what the result of her pose.
Spooky PUMPKINS!!!
Oh and did I mention...
THAT UGA BEAT LSU!!!!
(I wonder how many times I can post about this, before I end up sleeping on the couch? Oh wait I sleep on the couch most nights anyways.)
Usually with a post title like this, I might discuss the amazing things God has done by allowing me to have triplets that are completely healthy and happy, or a mommy who has suffered the loss of her triplets and is now reached viability with a singleton or a baby that has survived despite all odds, but INSTEAD, I will talk about the the amazing and completely frivolous miracle that occurred this weekend.
Miracle ONE: In a amazing upset (or at least to my husband), LSU lost not just a little bit, but a BIG HUGE COMPLETE ASS WHOOPIN loss to UGA!!! And in a continuation for said miracle, Daddy Frank was greeted Sunday morning with out yard decked out in UGA decorations (thanks in part to our lovely neighbor, Jason.) GOT TO LOVE IT! GO DAWGS!
Miracle TWO: We drove from Louisiana to Georgia on Sunday with absolutely minimal crying. We only had a little bit at the very end when we exited the interstate (and me singing songs to them kept them entertained enough to not have a total breakdown. When we arrived home, it was COLD around 52 degrees (now for all my northern readers and Daddy Frank, cold is relative and I understand that my shivering would constitute a warm spring day for most.) However, when the girls wanted to go outside in play, I caved and bundled them up. It had rained while we were gone so I emptied all the water catching toys and then let the girls loose. I stepped into the garage to move clothing from the washer to the dryer. When I came back out, the girls had found some water I had missed and were happily splashing in it. Needless to say, they were freezing, but refused to come inside, so after a bit of coaxing and the promise of a bath, we made it inside. We had our bath and Daddy brought us Mexican for supper. My girlies decided for the first time that they liked Mexican (they had cheese enchiladas and nachos). Then they played with Daddy and went to bed at 8 pm, and except for Makenna's wake up at 3 for a new sippy of water, not a peep was heard until 9 am.
Miracle 3: My point and shoot camera was not lost (which I did not tell Frank I thought I had lost, because I was praying God would intercede on my behalf, because Frank would have KILLED me if I had lost it.) He did. It is with Aunt Suzy in Louisiana. It was found at her house and Uncle Todd was being thoughtful and put it in his truck to give to me. He said he told Suzy it was there, but Suzy doesn't remember him telling her, so it was there all along. I get to live another day.
I also got the privilege (and it wasn't planned) to help shoot my cousin's wedding here are two of my favorites (these are unedited, so they will be even better when I finish.) I wasn't the main photographer, so a lot of them are from the side. I did speak up some, but I wish I had done more, because the outside pictures are gonna have these lovely old houses in them (that aren't cute), because the photographer did not angle the group to remove the buildings) I also got to snap a few of my little cousin, Jordon. He is SO cute! I think he is gonna get the Bailey red hair and I am SO jealous.
Britnee and Chris
This is the aftermath of the girls trying to pick up Chris. He was a great groom; he was funny and willing to do anything.
Jumping for joy!
Chris and the girls on Cody's (Brother of the Bride's bike)
Britnee and Chris on the bike (see the house in the back)
Cake aftermath
Brittnee dressing
I just love the happiness on Brittnee's face here (I am hoping I can clean it up a bunch to get a better look to it.)
This needs to be sharpened, but I still like it
Same picture different focus, but I like it for some crazy reason.
What a little cutie
Well that's it for now, but did I happen to mention that UGA beat LSU????
